I'm planning on buying this D-Link Router (Model Number: DIR-655) for my house.
I have a 802.11g Laptop.
Would I have to buy the D-Link Xtreme Notebook Card (Model Number: DWA 652) to have internet with speed of about 300 Mbps?
Or would my laptop still have full speed when connected to the router without the card?

Don't buy it. Your not gonna get anywhere close to 300Mbps from your ISP anyway.
