Acer recently updated its netbook range offers low cost with the introduction of its new 10-inch Acer Aspire One AOD150 unit. This review on laptops Acer plans to offer an overview of what will drive this new Acer mini notebook.

Acer also, like most from sellers, now targets Segment 10 inch netbook market with low cost. Finally, to be honest, I think all netbooks-Sub 10 inches are too small for most users. At 10 or 11 inches would be so good for a gadget that is supposed to bridge the gap between a regular-sized laptops and smartphones.

Specifications - Nothing new

So lets go ahead with the review of the new Acer 10-inch netbook. In the first place, what about a look at the specifications. What follows is what is under the hood of this little gem of Acer.

1. Intel Atom N270 (1.60GHz, 533MHz FSB, 512KB L2 cache)
2. 1024MB DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz single channel memory
3. 160GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
4. Windows XP with Service Pack 3
5. Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
6. 3 USB 2.0 ports for connecting a wide range of peripherals - Digital Cameras MP3 players
7. Multi-in-one card reader compatible with Secure Digital (SD), MultiMediaCard (MMC), Reduced Size Multimedia (RS-MMC) Memory Stick / Memory Stick PRO and xD Picture Card
8. VGA monitor port
9. 1 headphone jack and 1 microphone jack
10. RJ-45 for 10/100 Fast Ethernet
11. Slot Kensington Security

In terms of specifications, the unit of Acer does not seem to be different unlike all the netbooks. So what's so special? Price - hard to beat. Let me be frank up front. What makes this device without a doubt a best-seller Acer is its price. Easy. Value for money. It is more or less similar in specifications and all other configurations with 10-inch netbooks.

Thus, all of they do not differ much in terms of performance. Acer pushes certainly difficult to capture market share 10inch. This new model sells for USD349. Therefore, it is now cheaper in the range of 10-inch netbooks.

Battery - watch at least 2 movies on a single charge

The first he wave of netbooks with 3 cell battery lasts about 3 hours or less before charging. Today, new models come with 6 cell battery. Hard now 5 to 7 hours per charge.

AOD150 The Acer comes with a 6-cell battery. Tests have confirmed that the 6 cell battery capable of supplying to unity around 5.5 hours or less. Not enough? Perhaps then you need to customize a 5800 mAh battery of six cells. This force of will surprisingly close to 8 hours. The camera comes with a battery of 4400 mAh.

Mouse buttons Pad - placed where it should really be

I do not know about you, but I am certainly not a big fan of netbook unit, where the buttons Mousepad are designed to be at hand. They feel completely against type for heavy use. I have not yet mastered the act of using the shoulder buttons.

Fortunately, Acer has decided to return to the old proven design carpet a mouse button on the bottom. No more discomfort with carpet mice.

Display - Same as always.

It is 1024x600 video to be the only available solution for netbooks? Definitely not me. The latest model from HP is compatible with a very good resolution of 1366x768.

Do not misunderstand me, 1024x600 is fine. However, it would certainly better if we can get a few more pixels to play. Encore Properties screen real play.

Keyboard - 89% not too bad. Could have been better.

In 89% of a notebook-size keys, keyboard AOD150 Acer is certainly nothing special. Well I would prefer to be somewhat larger.

It seems strange that Acer does not take extra space offered by the 10-model inch. There are still plenty of room to put a slightly larger keyboard.

If you get It?

As I said in the opening paragraphs, there is little that separates this unit from others. As such, there is really no reason not to do so are actually looking for a 10-inch netbook. Retail at USD349, is probably the best option if the value of money is your main criterion.
