I received a gift card and want to buy something I would not normally buy, something fun. I've been looking at netbooks as something I can just surf the net with, check email.

I have a desktop for my computer needs, again, this is just something I'm considering as kind of a toy, to be honest.

The refurbished are as low as $150 which shocks me. Are refurbs a good deal? I'm afraid of it dying after a week or just being so slow it isn't worth it.

I don't want to throw my money away but, unfortunately, I am not very computer literate.
